Mr. Robot star Rami Malek joins the Dior Homme family for their Summer 2017 campaign.
Emmy Award winning actor Rami Malek lands his first campaign with French fashion house Dior Homme. Photographed by Willy Vanderperre, Malek joins Boy George, seasoned Dior veteran A$AP Rocky and model Ernest Klimko. You could never tell this is the actor’s first high-end fashion gig as he continuously excel on red carpet appearances and appears regularly in the front row of Dior Homme’s runway show in Paris. Remember the monochromatic moment at the Met Gala? The black-and-white Emmy Award winning fit? Most importantly his Golden Globe Awards navy three piece tux? All courtesy of The House of Dior Homme.
On the inspiration behind the campaign, Van Assche told WWD:
“I really tried to translate what I think Dior Homme is right now. It’s about music, it’s about cinema, it’s about fashion…Boy George, when I was a kid, was one of the first to have this message about difference being okay; he was such a major influence on my generation. That idea of freedom and being a rebel–which he still is–is really something that has stayed with me.”
Stylist Olivier Rizzo, who outfitted the actor in an eyelet-embellished bomber jacket for the ads, wanted to evoke a Flemish-like painting, almost a cold and distant vibe. Visit the brand’s Instagram page for more images and inspiration.
