“BARQUE was conceived to reinvigorate the menswear genre, offering an original, modern interpretation of the classics. The collection is designed for people who have grown tired of predictable American menswear stores and are looking to update their old-fashioned suits and conventional wardrobe to something that is new and fresh, but firmly grounded in the traditions they grew up with. BARQUE customers want a better, more fashion-forward and global lifestyle without having to spend a fortune and stray too far from their comfort zone.”

BARQUE’s Creative Director, Gilbert Chen understands customers’ needs from a global perspective. Influenced and inspired by fashion from around the world, he has developed a collection embracing two main concepts – “casual dress-up attitude” and “international-fusion styling”.

BARQUE Fall/Winter 2012 Collection -
Staying true to their brand statement – “Modern Interpretation of Classics, ” BARQUE Fall/Winter 2012 collection is inspired by classic menswear silhouettes with a modern outlook in mind.  That means, taking the classic silhouettes – re-inventing the construction with subtle detailing, and utilizing interesting and updated fabrications.  BARQUE explores the fine line between casual and dress-up by making the mixing an effortless luxury.  The mission is still to provide that special piece of item for the customers to mix in with the more traditional items, re-emphasizing the brand concept of “casual dress-up.”  Wool blend windowpane, breton stripe and jacquard, donegal tweed and pin-stripe wool along with newer fabrication, such as cotton/wool blend shirting, quilted terry and jacquard shirtings are used to set the undertone for the collection.  The key pieces in the collection are ditsy print shirts, jacquard checker shirts, heavy jersey henley with woven contrast, quilted unconstructed blazers, wool windowpane uncontrusted vests, wool windowpane barracuda jacket w/ contrasting lining, jacquard sweater, and donegal tweed motor jacket.
